Ethan Ridings is an award winning, Atlanta based producer, singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He has produced for and shared the stage with a wide variety of legends from many genres that speaks to his considerable versatility (see credits below).
Born and raised in the surrounding communities of Kansas City, Ethan was exposed to many foundational styles that have influenced this midwestern region for decades. Blues, Rock, Country, Folk, and Jazz have had a strong grasp on this small rural city. He originally took to some of the great blues guitar legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonomassa, and Eric Clapton. Much of his technique is rooted in these players, but also the numerous local blues/rock guitarists Ethan would follow around town.
In his teenage years it wasn't uncommon to see Ethan sitting back watching his idols at famous Kansas city blues clubs like Knuckleheads Saloon, Jerrys Bait Shop, or bbs lakeside bbq. Growing up closer to the rural side of Kansas, Ethan also couldn't ignore the authority of country music on these areas. He loved listening to Chet Atkins, Brad Paisley, Johnny Hiland, and many of the great local country pickers in town.
Once Ethan began college he was hit with a whole new world of music: Jazz. He set his heart and soul in this style of music and the substantial history it played in Kansas City Culture. Not long after picking up the style he began playing shows around town and never turned back. Every weekend you would find him gigging at the Blue Room, green lady lounge, or any of the other historic Jazz clubs on the KC scene.
While in school studying Jazz he was introduced by his peers to R&b, Hiphop, and gospel music. He immediately fell in love. Once he graduated with his Bachelors in Jazz Studies, Ethan relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he freelances and continues to work on and improve the many styles he has picked up over the years.
